pirate party...

So, my adorable little Dawson turned 6 in June and he has been obsessed with pirates all year long so of course we decided to do a pirate-themed party. We were going to go to Pirate Island Pizza and just have his party there until Captain Jack Sparrow found out about the big bash and agreed to surprise Dawson and come celebrate with us.

I started out by sending Dawson and all of his cute little friends on a treasure hunt all around the neighborhood and the final clue led them to the park where the party was all setup. The kids were all so excited when they saw all the fun pirate decorations and treats but the looks on their little faces were priceless when the saw the big pirate ship pull up and Captain Jack stepped out. It was so cute! Captain Jack was absolutely darling, he played games with the kids, took them to tour his ship, and even told them all about his experiences at sea. He also gave Dawson a special gold coin that came from a real pirate treasure chest. All of the kids were freaking out, they thought it was so cool and Daws is completely obsessed with it and now thinks he is a millionaire :)

He was in heaven and loved every minute of it, after the party was over and everyone went home he gave me the biggest hug ever and told me it was the best day of his life! I love to see him so happy and I was glad we made all his little dreams come true!

Later that night we went to Pirate Island Pizza for dinner and all the pirates sang Happy Birthday to him, the kids played in the arcade and he bought some pirate souvenirs with his birthday money. It was a great day and I feel so blessed to be Dawson's mommy. He is such a good kid and I loved celebrating with him and seeing his darling snaggle-toothed smile, love you buddy!
